April Fool!

When I was a little tyke, my mom used to wake me by coming into my dark bedroom, pulling the curtains back , and saying "Look -- there's snow all over the ground!" Excited by the prospect of 'NO SCHOOL' I jumped out of bed and ran to the window. She would say:
APRIL FOOL!
April Fools’ Day is our annual permission slip to let our wits run wild. As we are exiting the gloomy days of winter, we can all use a break from being so serious. Although many of us don't need any motivation to act foolish -- we have been given permission for a whole day!
I HAVE GREAT FAITH IN FOOLS - - SELF-CONFIDENCE, AS MY FRIENDS CALL IT.
Historians can’t even agree on where or when April Fools Day started. Some say it’s tied to the French switching calendars in the 1500s, while others point to ancient Roman pranks.
But like I always say," Who cares?"
I fondly remember the earlier days, when my roommates and I would wrap plastic-wrap over toilet seats and wait for the scream! (Plastic-wrap-covering-the-toilet-seat was risky-- but always rewarding!) There was always a whoopee cushion or two among our group, the old standard -- the 'salt and sugar swap' -- was one of our favorites.
In 2025, we’re stepping it up. Remember when Google announced their new “Google Nose April Fools’ gag" a few years back, claiming you could smell search results? Another time Google told users all you had to do was stare at an animated image you wanted to search for and it would pop up! Instead, you would get an error messages, saying“Brainwaves received in analog, please re-think in digital".
So, my friends, it' April 1st -- April Fool's Day. Make this day is memorable! Here's your challenge. Come up with your own clever prank that no one will forget. For example, on your next zoom call, swap your background to a live feed of a UFO landing or Big Foot coming out of the woods behind your house. Watch your friends freak out!
