Curiosity???

Updated: Oct 5

Curiosity is the shift from staying with the familiar -- to exploring the unknown.

When I was a little boy my mom said she alway had trouble getting me to take a nap or to go to bed. She said it was because I was always afraid I was going to miss out on something.

I guess I had a serious case of FOMO . (Fear Of Missing Out)

And you know what, she was probably right!

Even after all the years, I am still curious. I just want to be-in-the-know! I am still looking for what's new or the next latest and greatest thing, because I believe that helps us to stay young.

Being curious is very helpful in the learning process.

Being curious, opens the door to creativity.

Being curious, is the ultimate path to knowledge.

  • Curiosity helps us survive. The urge to explore and seek novelty helps us remain vigilant and gain knowledge about our constantly changing environment.

  • Curious people are happier. Research has shown curiosity to be associated with higher levels of positive emotions, lower levels of anxiety, more satisfaction with life, and greater psychological well-being.

  • Curiosity helps strengthen relationships. One study found that people were rated as warmer and more attractive if they showed real curiosity in the exchange.

  • Curiosity can expand our empathy. Talk to everyone -- no matter how different they are which will give us a better understanding of them and why their lives and views might be different from ours. Even though it might be hard to start a conversation, you may just make someone's day.

Life was meant to be lived, and curiosity must be kept alive. One must never, for whatever reason, turn his back on life.

After all, life’s too short to be left wondering, "What if . . . . ?"

Stay curious, stay young, and keep those FOMO vibes alive!

You’ve got this—now go explore!
