The Shoulders of Giants

My uncle, Carl Scott, was a distinguished veteran who served in the Army during World War II. He participated in the D-Day invasion at Normandy and received numerous medals for his service.

When I was a young boy, I remember riding with him to work in his old pickup truck along the winding country road from his farm. He would always wave to everyone we encountered because he knew them all. He was a remarkable Christian man, and his legacy continues today through his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Today, our country is "Standing on the Shoulders of Giants" like Uncle Carl and others who served because of their bravery, personal sacrifices, challenges and triumphs.
Much of their emotional and physical damages lasted thorough their lives. They faced the chaos of battle, the uncertainty of survival, and the emotional toll that comes with warfare, all in the pursuit of a greater cause - the preservation of our freedoms.
Freedom is our birthright today, but it requires vigilance to uphold the values of equality and justice for all.

Thank you, Uncle Carl, and the many others who served our country, for your service and sacrifices, and for the honor of allowing us to 'stand on your shoulders' . . . . so we can enjoy the freedoms we celebrate today.
THANK YOU TODAY AND ALWAYS!
