As a young man beginning my career as a barber, I was fortunate to have had excellent mentors who taught and challenged me to excel. Throughout the many changes in my career path, I have consistently been blessed by outstanding mentors.
"The delicate balance of mentoring someone is not creating them in your own image, but giving them the opportunity to create themselves." — Steven Spielberg
In order to find a good mentor, you must start by being a good mentee.
Listen to their blogs, podcasts and YouTube videos. And take notes. . . because if you don't write it down, you might forget it. Graciously accept their constructive criticism. After all, they're there to help you teach you and share their wisdom.
Check out my recommended books from some of my mentors.
Nobody on earth is a 'be-all-know-all' mentor.  Sometimes we put our mentors up on a pedestal. Everything they say or do might not be something we want to emulate. But be very careful, because just like you and me, they have their flaws too!  Focus upon their positives!
As many of you know, Zig Ziglar was one of my favorite mentors and I have been greatly inspired by many of his books and quotes. This is one of my favorite quotes from him:
"You can get everything in life that you want, if you help enough other people get what they want."
We can all benefit from having mentors -- a Life Mentor, Business Mentor and Spiritual Mentor! Different mentors for different issues can make our lives more complete and well rounded!
'At some time in your life, you probably had someone believe in you when you didn't believe in yourself. ' - Steven Covey
NOW . . . . IT'S YOUR TURN!

"Those who read my blog are happier, more intelligent and better looking than those who don’t, according to a study that I made up." Â
