Self-Worth

The upside of low self-esteem is that it takes the sting out of most insults.
Discouragement can have a big effect on the way we see ourselves. But it's always important to remember your value!
A bottle of Coca-Cola cost $1 at the store, $2 at the gym, $4 at the airport, $7 at a concert! Same bottle, different location, different value! The next time you feel undervalued don't question what you're worth, question where you are.
You're probably asking: "But Charlie . . . .how can I build my own self esteem?"
Here are some simple steps that I have taken:
Remember: Nobody is good at everything! If you judge a fish by its' ability to climb a tree it would consider itself a failure.
Focus on the things you are good at or like about yourself, such as skills or positive personality traits.
Spend time with supportive people who make you feel good about yourself, and limit time with negative people who bring you down. Researchers suggest it takes between three to five positive compliments to offset one negative comment or interaction.
Reduce time spent on social media, which can fuel unhealthy comparisons . . . . not to mention being a huge waste of time! Being famous on Instagram is kinda like being a millionaire in the game of Monopoly!
It's time to start loving yourself instead of loving the idea of other people loving you.
Treat yourself with kindness and understanding when you make mistakes, rather than dwelling on them. Compliment yourself on every victory.
Above all, don't under-value yourself to make others feel better.
You are not required to set yourself on fire to keep others warm!
And never forget . . . . 'if cauliflower can become pizza, you can be anything.'
