Giving thanks!
When someone asks you, what you are thankful for. . . how do you answer?
Maybe you’re quick to say “family, friends, health”—the easy stuff. And that’s great! But there's a world of things we often overlook that make life enjoyable.
We take for granted so many of our most cherished blessings: Fresh air, food, a steady heartbeat and freedom! And most of all the people in our lives. Sometimes we’re so wrapped up in our everyday struggles we forget to be thankful for the basics.
When was the last time you paused to appreciate God's miracle of it all?
The more you are grateful for what you have, the more you will have to be grateful for. - Tom Ziglar
Thankfulness must be intentional!
When you catch yourself complaining, remember your blessings. Find the little things that bring you joy – sunshine, good memories, a phone call from a friend, a smile from a stranger, or a good book. Did your car break down? Be thankful for the person who picked you up and the mechanic who fixed it. Did your power go out? Be thankful for the neighbor who came over with candles.
Every once in a while, God allows you to stub your toe as a kind reminder to be grateful for the miraculous body attached to it.
There are people who seem to have a better life than you. But someone is always worse off --those who live in poverty, are homeless, abused, unemployed, or those who live under communism. Count your blessings!
Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. - 1 Thessalonians 5:18
Thankfulness requires action!
Gratitude isn’t just something to “feel”; it’s something to do.
Say It: Don’t hoard your “thank you's.” Go beyond the casual “thanks” with meaning! Tell people exactly what you appreciate about them. It builds bonds, spreads positivity, and has amazing benefits!
Show It: Send a thank-you card, buy a coffee, or leave a great tip. Small gestures mean a lot, and it’s so easy to brighten someone’s day.
Serve It: Take your gratitude to the community. Volunteer at a shelter, bring a Thanksgiving meal to a family in need, or just check in on a neighbor. Nothing lifts your spirits like helping someone else.
I am blessed with everything I need.
I am working hard for everything I want.
And most of all,
I appreciate and thank God for what I have.
I'm very thankful for you!
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
