The Greatest Gift You Can Give Someone is Authenticity!
Recently I came across the following article about Authenticity by Chuck Swindoll, one of my all time favorites. I wanted to share it with you and hope it blesses you as much as it did me!
The greatest gift you'll ever give isn't your talent, your title, or your time. The greatest gift you can offer your family, your church, and whomever God places in your path —as the Lord continues His work in you—is simply who you are. No matter how significant you become. No matter how well-known your name.
No matter your reputation, your role, or your reward. What remains is you—an authentic life shaped by grace.
One of the secrets of building character in others is quietly taking time for those coming behind us—those longing for the very qualities God has grown in us.
An authentic life is never meant to be kept. It's meant to be handed down.
Authenticity will never emerge from a phony life. So often we live as though we are only who we think other people think we are—and no wonder character becomes such a struggle.
But there's freedom in something far simpler: Know who you are. Accept who you are. Be who you are—all while devoting your life to the message of faith entrusted to you.
