When I was a teenager I would often cruise around Siler City with one of my buddies. His 'check engine light' would frequently come on, but he would just grab a piece tape and cover it. I don't think he was ignoring the problem -- he was just giving it a chance to disappear!
(He was not the smartest guy in the class.)
Are you going through life like my friend, not correcting anything but just putting a Band-Aid on it for a temporary fix?
I'll be the first admit that "kicking the can down the road" might feel good at the time but the problem doesn't go away. It usually reappears again and may even become worse.
By avoiding confrontation with our issues, we risk allowing them to grow and fester, leading to more significant problems that could have been eliminated if we had confronted them head-on in the first place.
Don't be satisfied with a "QUICK FIX':
Be proactive! When you make a mistake, admit it! "I messed up!"
Take time to analyze the problem and potential consequences of ignoring it.
Realize the issue needs to be addressed and corrected.
Accept that correcting the problem might be inconvenient or a sacrifice.
Don't be too proud to ask for help from others.
Be mindful -- so it won't happen again.
Don't you wish all our problems in life could be fixed by covering it with tape?
I don't know where my buddy is now -- he's probably on the side of the road waiting for the Tow-Truck!
REMEMBER-- THE TAPE WILL WEAR OFF. . . . . . THE PROBLEM WON'T!
