Give Me Roses. . .

"Give me roses while I am living."
When I was a little boy, I can remember my mother frequently saying,
“Give me roses while I’m living.”
As I get older, I have cherished the wisdom of her words even more. Everyone needs to know that they are loved and appreciated -- our family, close friends, coworkers and even total strangers.
Growing up, our family had very little money. Dad worked long hours at the cotton mill so mom could stay home and raise my sister and me. My mom never lived a life of 'soap operas and bon bon's' . She always took care of the essentials -- cooking, cleaning house, and sewing for us --living a routine, stay-at-home-mom-kind of life.
And my wife Karen never has subscribed to the bon-bon/soap opera kind of life either. She has been instrumental in starting and continuing to run our apparel business. Even if she did have the time, she would spend it making sure the lives of those around her are blessed.
Not just our family -- everyone she knows!
In our daily lives, we often find ourselves too busy to express our gratitude to those around us for everything they've done for us. However, what if we never get another chance to tell them?
As we approach Mother's Day, I want to challenge each one of you to pick up the phone, text or write your mom or "that special person" in your life, telling them how much you love and appreciate them for everything they do. You won’t regret it!
Never admire quietly. If you admire something about someone, tell them! We humans are so fragile. It's important we give people their flowers while they are still here.
FEELING GRATITUDE AND NOT EXPRESSING IT IS LIKE WRAPPING A PRESENT AND NOT GIVING IT!
Happy Mother's Day, ladies!
