Some artist did a cut and paste trade show ad for me back in the 70's. What a stretch! But I have to admit, all along this artistic concept was my vision!
Even though, back in those days I was a runner, I never was able to put a 26.2 marathon bumpersticker on my car. But I did try to run from 2 to 4 miles every day.
And after all these years, I still do. But it takes longer when you're walking!
I am consistent! And that is the trick: Consistency! Dr.John Ratey, clinical professor of psychiatry, Harvard Medical School, said it this way,
“The real reason we feel so good when we get our blood pumping is that it makes the brain function at its best. The point of exercise is to build and condition the brain. Everything we’ve learned continues to confirm that exercise helps prevent cognitive decline as we age.” It's been proven -- consistent exercise sharpens your brain and mental health.
Exercise makes you more alert, enhances coordination, aids memory and concentration. Studies have shown that only 30-minutes of exercise 3 to 4 times a week helps maintain good health.
Exercise is a great stress reliever, lowers blood pressure, promotes heart health, and strengthens your immune system!
And that's not even the full payoff: Your body runs better with a daily tune-up. Bones and muscle-mass improve, your back becomes stronger, and it lubricates your joints! Consistent exercise will leave your body healthier, stronger, more able to ward off disease and inflammation.
Don't forget some of my personal favorite benefits:
You'll be able to kick butt on Bingo Night, thanks to your sharp mind and quick reflexes!
You'll have an excuse to buy new workout clothes, because let's face it, who doesn't love a good ath-leisure look?
Now you'll have a reason to use that fancy gym membership!
And in conclusion, UNLESS YOU PUKE, FAINT, OR DIE . . . KEEP GOING!
