Be kind. Because everyone you meet is going through some sort of battle.
Someone recently said "relationships are becoming harder these days because conversations have become texts, arguments become emails and feelings become status tweets".
I think one of the biggest problems today is that people talk at others, not to them.
In life, we are given many opportunities to use thoughtfulness and consideration as we interact with each other. When conversations become loud arguments, nobody is listening!
“A soft word turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.” -Proverbs 15:1
“Raise your words not your voice. It is rain that grows flowers, not thunder”.
Thunder represents noise and intensity but does not contribute directly to growth.
By approaching discussions or conflicts with calmness, respect and empathy, one is more likely to generate understanding, build relationships, and achieve positive outcomes, just as rain nourishes and enables the growth of flowers.
In a confrontational situation strive to be more gentle in your demeanor-- in business and family life. Instead of getting hostile and angry in conversations, try showing kindness to others. Use patience, gentleness, in nurturing your relationships. Kindness diffuses arguments in situations. Everyone can argue, but not everyone can interact.
The key to kindness is gentle respect. One of the most sincere forms of respect is listening to what someone else has to say.
Sometimes it's best to lose an argument, in order to win a relationship.
Kindness is a gift everyone can afford to give.
