    Memories . . .

    Charlie the Barber, circa 1964

When I started my barbering career, I never saw myself winning any major awards -- especially after the time I snipped that guys ear during a haircut. The blood droplets from his ear and the memories of the facial expressions on those in the waiting room, have been a continuing memory and might have inspired me to reevaluate my career choice!

When I transitioned to sales at The Quaker Oats Company, I never thought later in my life I would be bragging about selling Cap'n Crunch or Grits! But life throws us many curves. Like so many of my other memories these jobs turned out to be an important stepping stone in my career.

All of your our memories include life-lessons and can be used as either stepping stones or stumbling blocks. . . . . your choice!

Like all of us, I've moved on! But I've still got my memories of the early jobs that shaped me.

As we all get older, we learn to appreciate some of the life lessons offered in our good memories as well as the bad memories.

Your day might have started out as just an ordinary day. But you don't ever know what will happen to make today one of the most memorable days of your life! Building memories takes time .

Memories are personal! Each of us takes a different memory away from a situation. Sharing stories of the good, bad or uncomfortable times with old friends, always seem to get funnier as time passes.

When my old buddies and I get together at the beach and start walking down memory lane, it doesn't take too long to divert over to Liar's Lane, as we exit off Exaggeration Interstate. But even those times of stretching and pulling the truth around, we are making more memories!

Live in moment and be thankful for each day -- but cherish the memories!

"The best memories in life are of the people you love, the places you've seen and the friends you've made along the way."
