What is your New Year's Resolution? Sometimes we all need a little inspiration to remind us to reach for the stars. Or at least try to reach the top shelf in the pantry without using a step stool.
Whether your goal is to become the world's best pickleball player or to invent a self-stirring coffee mug, pursue it with the enthusiasm of a mosquito at a nudist colony.
Ambition doesn't just happen. You have to change your mindset. Be willing to step over the pitfalls and past the problems. But remember, it takes consistency and determination to reach your goals!
If you don't have the ambition to be the best at the starting block, you will never be first to finish the race.
Vince Lombardi, the famous coach, once told his team: 'The difference between a successful person and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but rather a lack of ambition.'
Sometimes your ambitions might lead you on a 'wild goose chase'. Even well-meaning family or friends may try to 'rain on your parade.' But you might be surprised to find your joy in pursuing the absurd. Like Edison. Or Steve Jobs. Or Elon Musk.
Never be afraid of making mistakes. Even though your ambitions might cause you to make the same mistakes over and over again, there is no shame in making them. Often in acknowledging them you become wiser and stronger.
In fact, I've learned so much from my mistakes, I'm thinking of making a few more!
Don't let anything get in your way. March boldly into the future, armed with your dreams, determination, and an absurd amount of enthusiasm!
