A father said to his daughter “Congratulations on graduating with honors. Here is a car I bought many years ago. It is pretty old now. But I would suggest you take it to the used car lot downtown and tell them I want to sell it and see how much they offer you for it."
The daughter went to the used car lot, returned to her father and said, "They offered me $1000 because they said it looks pretty worn out." The father said take it to the pawnshop.
The daughter went to the pawnshop, return to her father and said “The pawnshop offered only $100 because they said it is an old car.” The father said go to the car club now and show them the car.
She took the car to the club, returned and told her father, “Someone in the club offered $100,000 for it because it’s a very rare car sought by many collectors.“
The father said: "Never stay in a place where no one sees your value."
Always make sure you are in the right place, and you will be valued the right way. If you are not valued the right way, do not be angry. It means you are in the wrong place.
Regardless of other people's words, thoughts, and opinions about you, you can still choose how you view yourself. What matters is not what others think about you, but what you think about yourself.
