In the late 1800s, Willie and Rufus were working together repairing the railroad tracks. It was about lunch time when the train passed. The caboose stopped right in front of them, and out stepped a well-dressed man, who called out: "Willie, come inside and have lunch with me."
A short time later, Willie exited the caboose door and thanked the gentleman for lunch.
As the train continued along its way, Willie's co-worker asked, "Wasn't that man the president of the railroad?" Willie replied, "Yes, 20 years ago, we both started working for the railroad the very same day." And Rufus said, "And he's now the president of the railroad and you're working on the tracks with me. How did that happen?"
Willie answered:
"It's very simple; I went to work for two-dollars a day and he went to work for the railroad!"
