Those who know me, and by now, those of you who follow this blog are aware that I am a strong advocate for inspirational quotes, sayings, and motivational stories. I've collected hundreds of these over the past 50 years -- some are inspirational or uplifting, some are wise and others might just put a smile on your face.
My main goal in writing this blog, is to inspire, encourage, provoke thought, and most of all motivate you TO TAKE ACTION!
Friends of mine who like to tease me, call these sayings "CHARLIE-ISMS".
These are just a few examples of my favorites:
The road to life is paved with flat squirrels that couldn't make a decision.
Today's peacock is tomorrow's feather duster.
In war time, any ditch is a foxhole.
And one my favorites from my mentor Zig Ziglar: "Think of me as a cross-eyed discus thrower. I might not set any records, but I sure keep the crowd alert!"
Why do motivational quotes draw us and affect us? Why are we so obsessed with reading snippets of wisdom?
Motivational quotes affect our brain, our behavior, and our lives because they give us the confidence to feel like we are in control of our own success. When our brain is influenced, our behavior is as well.
One enduring line is more valuable than a hundred books that become obsolete. A great quote contains a wealth of wisdom in a single line.
Discovering a motivational quote feels like having a personal mentor or virtual coach who believes in your abilities. Their encouragement helps boost your self-confidence also.
Short quotes have the power to ignite ideas and spark thoughts to give you new perspectives.
Use your time to enhance yourself through the writings of others, allowing you to effortlessly gain what others have worked hard to achieve.
