    Don't Get Old On Me!

Hopping out of bed one morning, I complained: "My big toe hurts!"

My wife -- with her hands on her hips -- stared back at me and responded:

"You're 80 years-old and you're complaining that your toe hurts??"

As she left the room, she said: "Don't get old on me. We both laughed.

(I always heard "You don't stop laughing because you grow old.

You grow old because you stop laughing!")

But we all try to stay as young as possible as long as possible!

Here are some things that I believe are important, and will hopefully help you stay young:

    • Attitude is one of the most important things. When you wake up in the morning,  if you think you're gonna have a good day or bad day, YOU WILL!

    • Never stop learning because life never stops teaching.   Ben Franklin said, Life's biggest tragedy is we get old too soon and wise too late.

    • Exercise daily and eat healthy.   You pay for good health on the front end or the back.

    • Keep your energy up! Put down your remote and get out of your recliner! You gotta keep moving!   My dad always said, "I'd rather wear out than rust out!"

    • Be open to change! The older you get, the more you have to be open to change! History is full of giants that didn't adapt. Have you seen a dinosaur lately?

    • Keep up with technology. You may think your old pickup truck is fast . . . until you enter the Daytona 500. . . You might finish the race, but you'll never win!

    • Hang out with young people. They aren't as afraid of failure or trying new things. But you want to be careful. You might not want to follow them into a tattoo parlor!

    • Always be thankful. The more thankful you are, the more you will have to be thankful for.

After all is said and done . . .

THE IDEA IS TO DIE YOUNG -- AS LATE AS POSSIBLE!
